Fabio Bertoni is a sociologist with a Ph.D. in Social Sciences from the University of Padua. He is currently a researcher at ICS – Universidade de Lisboa, where he is a member of the research groups Diversidades and SHIFT. His primary research interests focus on the intersection of urban spaces and the normativity of the bodies. His current research project, titled ‘Visualizing Urban Normativity,’ explores urban spaces, the normativity of bodies in urban life, and visual impairment, utilizing an ethnographic and participatory approach. His previous works, conducted during his Ph.D. studies and his first post-doctoral position at the University of Cagliari, have addressed topics such as leisure activities, urban cultures, youth cultures, youth conflicts, music, and subcultures, as well as securitarian urban policies. He has authored numerous publications in both Italian and English journals, co-authored the book ‘Se non qui dove? Città giovani e appartenenze’ (Egea), and co-edited ‘Territori e Resistenze’ and ‘Le strade della teppa’ (redstarpress).
