Lara Caldas is a postdoc researcher at the University of Brasilia (UnB), with an urban planning background. She holds a PhD in Political Science, with her thesis developed on radical forms of neoliberal urbanization in the Global South and their connections to the 21st-century crisis of democracy. She is a core member of the Brazilian national research institute ‘Observatório das Metrópoles”, and the research group Neoliberalism and Neoconservatism (University of Goias). Her research interests lie in the intersections of politics and urbanization, specifically in questions of justice, equality, and democratic struggle, from a Latin American perspective.
