I am a multimodal anthropologist and research fellow at the Instituto de Ciências Sociais, Universidade de Lisboa (ICS-ULisboa) who harnesses the affordances of cinematic language to craft audio-visual artifacts that both address and contribute to theoretical explorations. My past research interests revolved around (forced) displacement, exploring its intersections with conflict, violence, development, and extractivism. In my current research project I explore the relationship between meteorology, environmental media and the audio-visual representations arising thereof. I work mainly in African contexts: Angola, Mozambique, Guine-Bissau, Senegal, and Zambia.
