To approach local government-led practices of citizen participation in policy-making as a strategy for urbanisation. To analyse the institutional designs of participatory practices (constitution of publics; methods for citizen engagement; outcomes and outputs) to provide new evidence and critical knowledge on their role for current socio-political paradigms.
