Security and risk

To explore the ways urbanisation and urban transitions are affecting the field of security and its governmentalities (risk, prevention and securitization), and their relations with urban policy. To theorize and rethink security in innovative, inclusionary and holistic perspective.

Relevant fields: urban security and violence, climate change, food security, mega-projects.

Context of current research: Focus on places outside from the core of current theorization (e.g. Southern Europe, South-Saharan Africa, South of the USA)
