I am Assistant Researcher at the Institute of Social Sciences University of Lisbon. My research focuses on citizen engagement in policy and decision making, the impacts of democratic innovations on institutions and society at multiple levels of governance, and the role of (self-organised) civil society for sustainable transformations. I also contribute to discussions about policy planning, monitoring and evaluation for democracy and new pathways of social intersectional inclusion. My background is interdisciplinary: degree and Master in Psychology (Università La Sapienza, Rome), PhD in Democracy (University of Coimbra), and I am currently researcher in human geography at my host institution. Along with academic work, I have been a consultant to public agencies on citizen participation and urban policymaking.
